🔹 A HANDWOVEN FLATWEAVE PLAID RUG BUILT FOR MODERN HOMES
Bring warmth and quiet character to your space with this handwoven flatweave plaid area rug — a modern Scandinavian carpet where soft sage green, ivory, dusty blue and terracotta rust meet in a crisp tartan grid. Unlike bulky machine-made or printed rugs, this is a true flatweave: tightly woven yarn by yarn on the loom, reversible, and finished with hand-knotted tassel fringe. It's the low-profile, breathable rug people search for when they want texture without a thick pile.
🔹 WHY BUYERS LOVE IT
- Durable, tight flatweave that handles high-traffic living rooms and hallways
- Slim, low-profile build — sits flat under doors, chairs and furniture legs
- Reversible construction effectively gives you two rugs in one
- Real handwoven quality and depth of color that flat printed rugs can't match
- Lightweight, easy to lift, shake out and reposition
🔹 MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP
Each rug is handwoven on a traditional loom using a flatweave (dhurrie) technique — no gluing, no backing, no shortcuts. Color bands are built row by row, and the small square motifs are woven directly into the structure rather than printed on top. A single piece takes skilled artisans days of loom work, drawing on a family weaving heritage rooted in Bhadohi, India. Natural tassel fringe is hand-tied to finish each end.
🔹 USAGE & STYLING
Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, entryways and hallway runners. The muted palette pairs beautifully with light oak floors, mid-century and wooden furniture, greenery and neutral walls — perfect for Scandinavian, modern farmhouse, boho and minimalist interiors.
🔹 A THOUGHTFUL GIFT
Its warm, versatile palette makes it a standout housewarming, wedding or new-home gift that feels considered and personal.
🔹 CARE & TRUST NOTES
- Cotton flatweave = minimal shedding
- Spot clean with mild soap and water; vacuum on low without a beater bar
- Rotate occasionally and use a rug pad to reduce slipping and extend life
- As a genuinely handwoven piece, slight variations in size, color and weave are natural marks of authenticity — not defects
Rug Care & Maintenance
Vacuum gently once or twice a week using a brush attachment — avoid rotary brush heads. Do not machine wash. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth; never rub. With simple care, your handmade wool rug will stay beautiful for decades.

Questions, Answered
Everything you want to know before you buy
Handmade rugs raise real questions — about wool, shedding, sizing and shipping. Here are ours, answered plainly.
Can I order a custom size or colour?
Yes. Almost everything we make can be woven to your dimensions and palette, including round, runner and oversized pieces. Custom orders take about 4-6 weeks. Send us your measurements and a colour reference to start.
Are your rugs safe for pets and children?
Yes. Our rugs are crafted using natural wool and non-toxic dyes without chemical-backed coatings. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and flame-resistant, making it a great choice for family homes. If a loop is accidentally pulled by a pet, simply trim it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it.
Do I need a rug pad underneath it?
We highly recommend using one. A quality rug pad helps prevent slipping, protects your flooring, adds extra comfort underfoot, and extends the lifespan of your rug by reducing wear from daily foot traffic. It's especially beneficial on hardwood, tile, and other smooth surfaces.
How should I clean and care for my rug?
Vacuum weekly on a low setting. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — press, don't rub. For anything that has set, use a professional rug cleaner. Avoid soaking the rug, bleach, and steam cleaning.
Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?
Yes, light shedding is normal during the first few weeks. These are loose fibers left from the finishing process and will gradually reduce with regular use. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting (without a rotating beater bar), and shedding typically settles within about a month. It is a natural characteristic of quality wool rugs.
No question matches that. Message us and we'll answer it directly.
