Description

This coral pink lattice hand knotted wool rug sets a sage green ogee lattice across a warm coral pink field, with navy, sage and ivory medallions alternating inside each compartment. An ivory border of navy roundels, sage rosettes and rust diamonds, with navy dotted guard bands and a sage outer frame, completes the design. It is made by hand in Bhadohi, India, in wool. The soft coral and sage palette brings a fresh, cheerful look to bedrooms, living rooms and dining spaces.

Why this construction

Hand-knotting ties each knot to the foundation threads by hand, which gives a dense, durable pile that can last for decades with ordinary care. It is slower than tufting and shows in the clean lattice lines and crisp stepped motifs.

Materials and craftsmanship

The pile is wool, dyed in a coral pink, sage green, navy, ivory and rust palette. Natural tonal variation (abrash) in the coral field is part of the character of a handmade rug. The lattice-and-medallion layout draws on traditional village geometric designs and is woven by artisans in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, a long-established hand-knotting centre. It is a new rug, not an antique.

Styling and placement

Coral pink and sage pair well with light oak floors, blush or cream upholstery, navy accents, rattan and brass in cottage, eclectic, modern traditional and playful family rooms. In a bedroom, run it under the lower two-thirds of the bed. In a living room, keep at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug.

Care, variation and longevity

Vacuum regularly without a beater bar, blot spills quickly and rotate the rug every six to twelve months. Expect some loose wool fibre in the first weeks, which is normal for a new wool rug. Colour and size vary slightly between handmade pieces. With good care, a hand-knotted wool rug can last for decades. Use a felt-and-rubber rug pad.

Frequently asked questions

Will this rug shed?

New wool rugs shed loose surface fibres for the first few weeks, then settle. Regular vacuuming without a beater bar reduces it.

Is it pet-safe?

Wool is a resilient natural fibre and the rug uses no latex backing. Blot accidents promptly and have it professionally cleaned if stained.

Is the field pink or coral?

The field is a warm coral pink with soft tonal variation, warmer than a blush and lighter than a terracotta.

Can I get a custom size?

Yes, custom sizes can be requested. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm price and timing.

Will the colours match my screen?

Screens vary, and handmade dyeing varies slightly between pieces. We can send a close-up photo of the actual rug on request.

Questions, Answered

Everything you want to know before you buy

Handmade rugs raise real questions — about wool, shedding, sizing and shipping. Here are ours, answered plainly.

Can I order a custom size or colour?
Are your rugs safe for pets and children?
Do I need a rug pad underneath it?
How should I clean and care for my rug?
Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?
Can I order a custom size or colour?

Yes. Almost everything we make can be woven to your dimensions and palette, including round, runner and oversized pieces. Custom orders take about 4-6 weeks. Send us your measurements and a colour reference to start.

Are your rugs safe for pets and children?

Yes. Our rugs are crafted using natural wool and non-toxic dyes without chemical-backed coatings. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and flame-resistant, making it a great choice for family homes. If a loop is accidentally pulled by a pet, simply trim it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it.

Do I need a rug pad underneath it?

We highly recommend using one. A quality rug pad helps prevent slipping, protects your flooring, adds extra comfort underfoot, and extends the lifespan of your rug by reducing wear from daily foot traffic. It's especially beneficial on hardwood, tile, and other smooth surfaces.

How should I clean and care for my rug?

Vacuum weekly on a low setting. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — press, don't rub. For anything that has set, use a professional rug cleaner. Avoid soaking the rug, bleach, and steam cleaning.

Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?

Yes, light shedding is normal during the first few weeks. These are loose fibers left from the finishing process and will gradually reduce with regular use. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting (without a rotating beater bar), and shedding typically settles within about a month. It is a natural characteristic of quality wool rugs.

No question matches that. Message us and we'll answer it directly.
