🔹 A Handwoven Flatweave Rug That Anchors the Whole Room
This handwoven flatweave checkered rug brings warm mustard, calm dusty blue and deep burgundy together in a crisp geometric grid. Unlike printed or machine-made rugs, this is a genuine woven flatweave (dhurrie-style) — the pattern runs right through the weave, so it stays sharp wash after wash and reverses to a near-identical second side. If you've been searching for a modern geometric area rug or a mid-century check carpet with real handmade character, this is it.
🔹 Why You'll Love It
- Durable, tightly woven flatweave built for daily foot traffic and busy living rooms
- Low, flat profile sits flush under doors and dining chairs — easy to vacuum, easy to live with
- Rich, dyed-through wool color that keeps its depth instead of fading like synthetic prints
- Real handmade value — far more character and longevity than mass-produced machine rugs at a similar price
- Fully reversible: flip it to refresh wear and double its lifespan
🔹 Materials & Craftsmanship
Each rug is handwoven on a traditional loom by skilled artisans, one weft at a time. The flatweave technique interlocks the colored wool yarns to form the checkerboard directly in the structure of the rug — no glue, no backing, no shortcuts. A single piece takes days of focused handwork, and the hand-knotted fringe is finished by hand at both ends. This is generational weaving craft, not a factory run.
🔹 Styling & Rooms
Perfect for the living room, bedroom, home office, entryway, dining area or reading nook. The warm-and-cool palette pairs beautifully with mid-century modern furniture, Scandinavian minimalism, boho, farmhouse and eclectic interiors. Layer it over a larger jute rug or let it stand alone on wood floors — the grid pattern grounds a space instantly.
🔹 A Thoughtful Gift
Housewarming, wedding, anniversary or a first-apartment gift — a handwoven rug feels personal and lasts for years, making it a standout present for anyone who loves design-forward, handmade home décor.
🔹 Care & Trust Notes
- Being pure wool, light shedding is normal at first and settles with regular gentle vacuuming
- Vacuum without a beater bar; spot-clean spills promptly with mild soap and cold water; professional clean when needed
- Rotate occasionally and flip to even out wear — flatweaves reward this with a very long life
- Handmade means small, beautiful variations in color and weave — these are marks of authenticity, not flaws
- Colors may appear slightly different across screens due to lighting and monitors
Rug Care & Maintenance
Vacuum gently once or twice a week using a brush attachment — avoid rotary brush heads. Do not machine wash. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth; never rub. With simple care, your handmade wool rug will stay beautiful for decades.

Questions, Answered
Everything you want to know before you buy
Handmade rugs raise real questions — about wool, shedding, sizing and shipping. Here are ours, answered plainly.
Can I order a custom size or colour?
Yes. Almost everything we make can be woven to your dimensions and palette, including round, runner and oversized pieces. Custom orders take about 4-6 weeks. Send us your measurements and a colour reference to start.
Are your rugs safe for pets and children?
Yes. Our rugs are crafted using natural wool and non-toxic dyes without chemical-backed coatings. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and flame-resistant, making it a great choice for family homes. If a loop is accidentally pulled by a pet, simply trim it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it.
Do I need a rug pad underneath it?
We highly recommend using one. A quality rug pad helps prevent slipping, protects your flooring, adds extra comfort underfoot, and extends the lifespan of your rug by reducing wear from daily foot traffic. It's especially beneficial on hardwood, tile, and other smooth surfaces.
How should I clean and care for my rug?
Vacuum weekly on a low setting. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — press, don't rub. For anything that has set, use a professional rug cleaner. Avoid soaking the rug, bleach, and steam cleaning.
Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?
Yes, light shedding is normal during the first few weeks. These are loose fibers left from the finishing process and will gradually reduce with regular use. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting (without a rotating beater bar), and shedding typically settles within about a month. It is a natural characteristic of quality wool rugs.
No question matches that. Message us and we'll answer it directly.
