🔹 WHY THIS FLATWEAVE KILIM
This is an authentic handwoven wool flatweave — a true kilim, not a printed, machine-made, or tufted lookalike. The pattern is woven straight into the cloth thread by thread, so the design reads identically on both sides and the rug lies low and flush under doors and furniture. Unlike thick tufted rugs that trap dust and rely on glued backing, this flatweave is reversible, breathable, and built to be lived on. If you've been comparing flimsy printed "boho rugs," this is the handmade, heirloom-grade version of that look.

🔹 BENEFITS
- Durability — tight flatweave wool construction handles high-traffic living rooms, hallways and entryways for years
- Comfort — low-profile and firm underfoot, ideal under sofas, dining tables and beds
- Material quality — real wool naturally resists soil, holds color, and ages beautifully
- Value vs machine-made — a genuine handwoven piece at a fraction of gallery kilim pricing, with none of the plastic feel of power-loomed rugs

🔹 MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP
Handwoven on traditional pit looms by skilled weavers using the flatweave (kilim/dhurrie) technique. Each colored section is interlocked by hand across the cotton warp — no knots, no tufting gun, no glue. A single rug takes days of continuous weaving, and the crisp geometric columns you see require constant counting and tension control. The tasseled fringe is a natural extension of the warp threads, hand-finished at both ends.

🔹 USAGE & STYLING
Perfect for the living room, bedroom, home office, reading nook, hallway runner spaces and entryways. Styles effortlessly with Scandinavian, Southwestern, boho, mid-century modern and neutral interiors. The terracotta-and-blue palette warms up light wood floors and pairs naturally with linen sofas, rattan, and greenery.

🔹 GIFT WORTHINESS
A meaningful housewarming, wedding, or new-home gift — a handmade wool kilim reads as far more thoughtful than a mass-produced rug and arrives ready to style.

🔹 CARE & TRUST NOTES
- Light shedding is normal for new wool and settles with regular vacuuming (no beater bar)
- Spot clean with mild soap and cold water; professional wash for deep cleans
- Rotate periodically for even wear; use a rug pad to reduce slip and extend life
- As a handwoven piece, slight variation in size, color and motif is a natural mark of authenticity — not a defect
Rug Care & Maintenance

Vacuum gently once or twice a week using a brush attachment — avoid rotary brush heads. Do not machine wash. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth; never rub. With simple care, your handmade wool rug will stay beautiful for decades.

Questions, Answered

Everything you want to know before you buy

Handmade rugs raise real questions — about wool, shedding, sizing and shipping. Here are ours, answered plainly.

Can I order a custom size or colour?
Are your rugs safe for pets and children?
Do I need a rug pad underneath it?
How should I clean and care for my rug?
Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?
Can I order a custom size or colour?

Yes. Almost everything we make can be woven to your dimensions and palette, including round, runner and oversized pieces. Custom orders take about 4-6 weeks. Send us your measurements and a colour reference to start.

Are your rugs safe for pets and children?

Yes. Our rugs are crafted using natural wool and non-toxic dyes without chemical-backed coatings. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and flame-resistant, making it a great choice for family homes. If a loop is accidentally pulled by a pet, simply trim it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it.

Do I need a rug pad underneath it?

We highly recommend using one. A quality rug pad helps prevent slipping, protects your flooring, adds extra comfort underfoot, and extends the lifespan of your rug by reducing wear from daily foot traffic. It's especially beneficial on hardwood, tile, and other smooth surfaces.

How should I clean and care for my rug?

Vacuum weekly on a low setting. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — press, don't rub. For anything that has set, use a professional rug cleaner. Avoid soaking the rug, bleach, and steam cleaning.

Do wool rugs shed, and for how long?

Yes, light shedding is normal during the first few weeks. These are loose fibers left from the finishing process and will gradually reduce with regular use. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting (without a rotating beater bar), and shedding typically settles within about a month. It is a natural characteristic of quality wool rugs.

No question matches that. Message us and we'll answer it directly.
