ivory-cloud-rug-hand-tufted-wool-scalloped-flower-shape-charcoal-grey
Ivory Cloud Rug – Hand Tufted Wool Scalloped Flower Shape Area Rug, Charcoal & Grey

Soft, sculptural and quietly graphic. This ivory cloud rug takes the shape of a gentle scalloped flower, with a deep charcoal outer edge and a dove-grey band framing a textured ivory centre. A single hand-drawn charcoal line loops freely around the inside of the shape, crossing over itself like a quick ink sketch. Hand tufted in wool with crisp carved edges, it brings calm monochrome softness to modern living rooms and bedrooms.

Materials and craftsmanship

Each rug is hand tufted in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Wool yarn is punched by hand through a cotton cloth stretched on a frame, then sheared to a dense, even pile. Every outline and contour line is then hand carved, lifting each shape slightly above its neighbour so the design reads like a sculpture underfoot. The shaped edge is cut and bound by hand, and the rug is backed with cotton canvas.

Specifications

Construction

Hand tufted, hand carved

Pile material

100% wool

Backing

Cotton canvas backing

Design

Scalloped cloud flower shape with charcoal and grey border and a free-drawn carved line

Colours

Ivory, charcoal, dove grey

Pile height

About 12 mm

Edge finish

Hand-cut shaped edge, hand-bound, no fringe

Origin

Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, India

Production

Made to order – 10 to 15 days

Styling and placement

It looks beautiful with a curved bouclé sofa, black and ivory cushions, a sculptural black side table, a globe floor lamp and a dark wood screen. It suits Japandi, minimalist, monochrome and organic modern interiors, and makes a soft, playful rug for bedrooms and nurseries.

Choosing your size

Shaped rugs are measured at their longest and widest points. As a guide, 5x7 ft suits a reading corner or bedside, 6x9 ft sits in front of a sofa, and 8x10 ft or larger lets the front legs of all seating rest on the rug. Need a size or colour not listed? We tuft custom pieces to order.

Care and longevity

Vacuum regularly with suction only, beater bar off. Blot spills straight away with a clean cloth and spot clean with a mild wool-safe detergent. Use a rug pad on hard floors and rotate the rug every few months so wear and sunlight stay even. New wool sheds a little loose fibre for the first few weeks; this settles with regular vacuuming. Allow slight colour variation between batches and a size tolerance of up to 2%.

Frequently asked questions

Is the line meant to look hand drawn?

Yes.
